They priced for a job. In the meantime I got rid of loads more stuff ie there was less there than they quoted to move. Turned up on the day and said I had more stuff and it would cost extra. Had to move the remaining stuff myself. Lots of stuff missing from the boxes that they did move. The next quote I had was £200 more. I wished I'd gone with the higher quote and saved myself a lot of hassle. I would also still have all my possessions. Don't say that you haven't been warned.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Flat Service cost: £600

We had Kieran and another man (can't remember his name) who were fab when we moved house. They were quick, efficient and nothing was broken. They work solidly for several hours so when we bought them lunch-they refused. They got straight back to work after they had their lunch.
Only thing I would say is that the men who delivered the boxes a week before moving were incredibly late so the company had to send another man to deliver them.
All in all, a good service.

Proceed with caution!

We booked with Taurus removals following a reasonable quote. After not hearing any confirmation from them we rung on numerous occasions and finally spoke with an individual who stated they had wrote down our email wrongly. We were informed that the van would be with us by 9:30am on our removal day. Unfortunately the removal van arrived at 11:15am, our estate agent had advised us that the property needed to be vacated by 12 noon. The late arrival added additional stress to the removal procedure and our estate agents we not happy that we were holding up the whole process.

The two men filled the van relatively quickly but then approached us stating that there was more to more that what was on their job sheet. We stated that a survey had been done prior to them arriving. Their response was ‘this is typical, always underestimating a job.’ The two men then indicated that they would have to call the boss who would charge us an extra £130. One of the men proceeded by stating ‘I tell ya what mate, call it £80 cash in hand and we’ll call it quits.’ Uncomfortable at their proposal we refused to pay both the £130 or £80 (cash in hand). We offered to ‘call the boss’ and explain that they were late arriving to us and therefore potentially late to any other jobs later that day.

Following our removal we were disgusted to find the following:

Bottom draw of £800 chest of draws smashed.
Floor lamp broken.
Dell laptop and DIY equipment missing!

Consequently, we contacted Taurus removals. A number of delay tactics were used.
I’ll call the boss and get back to you (which they never did).
I don’t have the bosses number.
I’m on holiday at the moment.
I’ve extended my holiday (my wife likes to travel you know).
I have 1% battery so can’t talk.
I’m at a kids party.

I strongly recommend you proceed with extreme caution if even considering Taurus removals. When discussing the issue they were unable to pinpoint the men used in the move, asking us for their names! It seems they have little control over the process and no one seems to take responsibility. I guess the saying ‘you get what you pay for’ is true in this instance. Furthermore, their response was aggressive and overpowering. They were unwilling to support us and resolve the process. It’s obvious they don’t value good customer service and a reputable reputation. We were easily lead to believe a statement received by email outlining ‘if there is anything we can assist you with, either now or in the future, please be assured of our very best attention.’ This certainly isn’t the case with Taurus removals!
